Eh?
If your buying this for big tough projects this isnt the set you want. Its more of a household set for household projects. I used this set to modify my quad trailor and all the big bits either got dull after one use or they chipped and as far as the small ones go there alright but brake quite fast.

Surprised at Their Quality
I've alway considered Irwin to be once removed from junk. But these appear to be pretty good bits. I'll write again once I've had more experience with them. I'd like to mention that I emailed Irwin to ask them what kind of steel the bits are made from and they replied that they are High Speed Steel. It would be interesting to find out what alloy. In any case the finish and grind are very good. Above 3/8 the bits have hex flats growned in their shanks. This could affect concentricity but it also prevents slippage in a chuck. I like the hex shanks as they make a perfect accessory for todays keyless chuck drills. Now I bought this set from Amazon when they had a half price sale. The bits are made in China but sadly they seem to be a quality product and at half price they were a bargain.

Brittle Bent and Expensive
This is an expensive set of drill bits and indicated that they were of a high quality but as it turns out I am not overly impressed. First I found the smaller bits extremely easy to snap sure you have to be careful with smaller bits... but these broke easily. Then some others were just fine. The metal index box is almost as important to me as the bits since it is what allows me to make the correct selection in a fast and timely manner as well as protecting the bits when not in use and allowing me to get the right bit back into the proper place for use next time.
While the sizing is fine the box itself is nothing to get excited about and if you drop it once count on the racks flying out of the box all over the shop floor. Again... something that would not be a big deal... but this is the top of the line and I thought I would get a little bit better box.
The final straw was when I used the 1/2" bit the largest in the set and I was needing an extremely precise hole... and I didn't get it (seating a bearing) I took the bit out and it rolled across my tablesaw top and was as crooked as can be.
This was NOT caused by any fall drop or misuse. It was the first time I had used it I was drilling into soft plastic and this is a 1/2" piece of steel/titanium. I couldn't bend if I tried. I wish I could say that this was a good set some of the bits ARE good but no way I can say that it is worth the price. You might be able to overlook a problem here and there.. but not when you are buying for the very best you can get.

Best drill bits i have ever used
Irwin turbo max drill bits are the best drill bits i ever used. They are great for drilling out broken bolts. I own other drill bits like snap on thunder bits and matco but the erwin bits work the best. I first used a coworkers set and then bought myself a set and i use them at least once a week.

These are the best Drill Bits I have ever used!
I have burned up many drill bits in the past and for the price these are the best. These bits alleviate the drill bit change from having to drill a pilot hole when using larger bits. Every hole is dead on. No drill bit traveling or pulling of the wood or steel. I have used these bits to drill through wood 1/4" steel plate and plastic. I have had no problems with any of the materials. The holes are straight and clean and right on the measurements that I needed. If you require an accurate hole being drilled then there is no other drill bit to be using.

Thank God for expert reviewers
This set has really good quality bits. Would I drill into concrete with these???? No no no; these bits are NOT meant for concrete drilling. By the way the don't have pilot points neither. Nonetheless they are great bits.

great deal on a cobalt bit set
Nothing drills like cobalt. While made for hard metals these bits actually do great on wood as well. I use them on both. Compared to high speed steel on wood these bits stay sharper and penetrate very well without clogging. Of course when drilling through holes they will have some tear-out on wood. The Bosch set is a very good value for cobalt bits and the box is top notch.

Cheap like me? Yeah you're gonna like this too...
Being frugal (all right cheap) by nature I held off on buying a single-serve coffeemaker until I could find one I liked that offered a reusable filter. When Keurig came out with the B-40 Elite a handsome reasonably priced unit and announced that it would be releasing its "My K-Cup" reusable filter for separate sale early in 2006 I was primed. As soon as I saw this product on Keurig's website I was ready to buy my new coffeemaker from Amazon.com and the filter from Keurig's web site. My only wish was that Amazon.com would stock the reusable filter so buyers could purchase the coffeemaker and filter in one fell swoop and here my wish is about to come to pass!
I have had my Keurig B-40 Elite for about a month now and I've had great success with it. Bear in mind that if you're using the reusable filter you must first remove the black plastic K-Cup holder from the unit's filter assembly (instructions on how to do this are included with "My K-Cup"; the black piece in the coffeemaker's filter basket doesn't act like it's supposed to come out but it is and it does).
Also I've read elsewhere that some people don't like having to remove the reusable filter and clean it out after every use. However I've found it to be a relatively simple affair: the reusable filter doesn't drip when you remove it and takes about 30 seconds to rinse out after each use. You can use it again right away to brew successive cups.
One caveat is that the output splashes a bit when using the My K-Cup filter so I always have a damp paper towel at the ready when I brew a cup. That having been said I'm really happy to be using my own coffee and saving lots of money in the process. Those who are like me loathe to shell out 55 cents a cup for K-Cups will probably really like the new My K-Cup.

Almost A Regret?
I took on the project of building my new shop. I've made numerous purchases and saw the Irwin Cobalt drill bits. It was as close to an impulse purchase as I've made and I quickly regretted my decision as the set was pretty expensive. I figured that when they came in if I didn't like them I could return them.
Well they came in and I was very impressed with the quality and sharpness of the bits. This is by far the BEST set of bits I have ever owned.
If you compare the costs of 'throw-away' drill bits and then figure the frustration of having busted small bits...then look no further than this Irwin set.
It is worth it.
